Diet tips!
I created this website to help people understand how to lose
weight, eat healthy and find better quality of life, I explain
how to start your diet and how to get motivated to stick
with it and succeed.
Obesity has become a very big problem with Americans, most of
us are limited on time and it seems there is a new fast food
restaurant going up every month or so, the statistics from the
Centers of Disease Control show that sixty-four percent of
adult Americans are obese or overweight, this is a new epidemic
and the teaching of healthy living is more critical now than
ever. Dieting is the first start; this is more of a short term
goal, and leads to a healthy life style. The problem with diets
are people tend to let there desires take over and eventually
the diet fails, the human senses are very strong and we tend to
give in. This is one reason the Idiot Proof Diet is so
helpful.
You want to try and find something that motivates you to lose
weight; it could be looks, which is what most people go by
external motivators, the way it makes you feel, or just the
thought of being healthier. Ok, I am
going to list general guide lines to get fit and lose
weight.
1.
Choose a healthy weight Goal
- Make
sure when you are choosing this goal that it is reasonable and
something that is manageable when the weight does fall
off.
2.
Being physically active
- Try and
so something every day that requires the burning of energy, I
understand not everyone has time and can afford a gym
membership, but you don't need a gym to get off the couch, when
concentrating on losing weight, walking for 30 minutes a day is
one of the best techniques. Walking at a fast pace will help
you to burn off fat, many people think that you must run or jog
but this is inaccurate, when you jog or run you tend to burn
off all of your carbohydrates and then you start burning
muscle. So don't run yourself to death it is not
necessary.
3.
Use the pyramid
- Going back to elementary when we learned about that food
pyramid, never thought you would have to use that huh? The food
pyramid will convey its variety. By eating some of the food in
each variety daily, this will ensure that you get all the
nutrients that you need and normally these foods are low in
fat.
4.
Grains -
Everyone needs grains in there diets, this includes the breads,
pasta, rice etc... I know what your thinking all the diets say
not to eat carbohydrates, remember, people are overweight more
than ever right know and a lot of it has to do with people
teaching and preaching the wrong methods of dieting and healthy
living. Fiber helps the bowels function properly and it also
may lower your risk for heart disease and some cancers, but
grains also give you energy, without energy you will never want
get off of the couch.
5.
Eat fruit and vegetables
-
Remember when your parents said eat your vegetables, well they
where right. You need to try and eat at least 2 to 3 servings
of vegetables per day. Most people don't do this and when
targeting weight loss, fruits and vegetables should be your
best friends because they will help you succeed. Now when
eating fruits and vegetables try and switch things up and eat a
variety of fruit. Fruit is not only very healthy but it
provides antioxidant nutrients such as vitamin C, beta
carotene, vitamin A and vitamin E which will reduce the risk of
cancers and other chronic diseases.
6.
Choose
diets low in saturated fat and cholesterol.
7.
Pick
beverages and foods that moderate your intake of
sugars.
8.
Prepare
foods with less salt.
These
are general tips and techniques that will help you to begin
your health lifestyle, don't take offense to the title of

Diet , but
you must get up and do something that is your first step
