Carbohydrates, Fat & Body Mass Index –
The Good, Bad and Ugly
Carbohydrates are also called
“Carbs”, which you will see in this article frequently.
Carbohydrate is a type of calorie which contains extra
energy. When eating foods rich in carbs, you will feel
more energetic. Candy or anything with a lot of sugar
that you put into your body will have you feeling extra
energetic. There are carbs that are good for you and
carbs that are bad for you too. THE IDIOT PROOF DIET will
assure you that the carbs you will be consuming will be
the good carbs your body needs, not the bad carbs that
will have you gaining unwanted pounds!
Now let's go on to learn more
about GOOD carbs and BAD carbs! When you consume bad
carbs your blood sugar rises and then makes your body
produce an extra amount of a hormone called Insulin. The
extra amount of Insulin intake, tells your body to start
the fat storage process. As we can see this is why bad
carbs are not wanted when trying to lose unwanted pounds.
Whole Wheat Bread, Orange juice, Whole Grain pasta,
cereal, and crackers are all bad carbohydrates. Also,
honey. People thought for many years that because honey
was made by Bees that it is not fattening. Wrong, honey
is just as fattening as sugar. Sugar and honey have the
same fattening carbs. Those are just a few bad carbs that
I can warn you about. Some good carbs that I can say are
good for you would be all fruits and vegetables, sweet
potatoes, sprouted grain bread rice spelt and rice
millet.
Good fat versus Bad fat. Facts:
you can't lose fat without eating fat. Eating good fat
will make you burn fat and eating bad fats will have you
gaining weight in no time. All fat does not make you fat
and you need to know which fats are good for your body
and which are bad for you. Eliminate all processed foods.
For example, artificial sweeteners, corn syrup, processed
soy products and hydrogenated oils. Processed foods
contain lots of sugars, containing many harmful
chemicals. Canola oil, margarine and substitute butters
are all bad fats! Coconut oils, real butter, whole eggs,
olive oil, avocados and raw nuts are all good
fats!
Body mass index (BMI) is a measure
of body fat based on height and weight that applies to
adult men and women. Know what your blood
sugar level is. If your blood sugar is at a level of 120
that is high meaning you are in the weight gain zone. If
your level is at 90 you are in the fat burning zone and
if your level is at a low 60, then your body is in the
constantly hungry feeling fatigued mode.
A few more helpful hints to know
is there really are not a need for counting calories
unless you are a couch potato and not getting proper
exercise. Starving yourself puts your body in starvation
mode and most diets flunk if you don't find out your
metabolic type. THE IDIOT PROOF DIET breaks it all down
