Counting calories to loose the
weight!
A calorie isn't a nutrient, but
nutrients provide calories. For example one gram of
-
protein contains 4 calories
-
carbohydrates contains 4 calories
-
fat contains 9 calories
-
alcohol contains 7 calories
Water, minerals and vitamins do not provide
calories. When dieting it is a good idea to track how many
calories you eat and how many calories you burn. The best thing
I have found is to keep a journal with what you eat at what
time a day and how many calories it was. The problem with many
people is that they consume more calories than there body needs
to perform at a optimal level. Your calories needs are based
around age, sex, metabolism and activity levels. To calculate
how many calories your body needs just multiply your weight by
15. As you grow older your numbers will change as muscle
usually turns into fat and the body does not burn as many
calories. Keeping a journal will not only help you to lose
weight but after a while you will begin to understand what
foods are best for you personally and ultimately it leads to a
healthier life style.
Count those Calories
Men tend to burn more calories because women
are usually smaller and have smaller muscle mass. I am going to
list a few foods that are great to start eating with a diet and
also the nutrition information.
